Colour can wait. On the Seraphic Hamsa Galaxy Z Fold8, a hamsa of white simulated diamonds is the only ornament, and it relies on sparkle rather than hue to hold attention. The hand hangs fingers-down in the middle of the back, a short way beneath the cameras, and an almond-shaped eye in its palm cradles one larger stone. Underneath is a factory-new, unlocked Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, Samsung’s newly widened foldable, which our Dubai atelier fits with a fresh back panel plated 5–7 microns deep in Rose Gold, 24K Gold or Platinum, with the camera surround brought into the same finish.
Cast in 18K solid gold, the amulet is paved finger by finger, so its outline reads as one unbroken line of light. We leave Samsung’s aluminium frame and hinge without plating, so the fold keeps its engineered action, and we never open the phone: both Dynamic AMOLED 2X screens, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, the pair of 50MP rear cameras and the 4,800mAh battery remain sealed.
Metal does, however, block two wireless functions. Charging pads cannot reach the coil and Samsung Wallet tap-to-pay loses its NFC link, so the Seraphic Hamsa Galaxy Z Fold8 is powered through USB‑C by cable, with 25W Super Fast Charging, while contactless payments move to a bank card or a second device. Everything else, from Galaxy AI to 5G and Samsung’s updates, behaves as on any Z Fold8.
