TaylorMade builds the P790 as a hollow-body players’ distance iron. Behind its forged face, SpeedFoam Air fills the hollow head, and in long irons such as this one tungsten is set low. Plating is a surface finish, so that construction is left exactly as it was.

Head, Grooves and Shaft How the Iron Is Finished

The whole head is electroplated, the face and its grooves included, and so is the shaft, then brought to a bright polish. The grip and the black ferrule stay as TaylorMade supplies them, giving the club its black accents at either end.
