Leronza Classic Collection: What Gets Plated on Each Gold Phone, and What It Costs

Glacier iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max Classic edition in pale blue with camera rings in 24K Gold, Rose Gold and Platinum

Classic is the collection most people walk past on the way to something louder. There’s no engraving and no stones, and the back isn’t plated all over. On most phones Leronza leaves the colour the manufacturer chose and puts precious metal only on a few edges, such as the camera rings, the frame or the logo. That restraint has a practical side, because on most Classic phones the phone keeps working the way it did out of the box, wireless charging included. It’s also the cheapest way into a gold phone on most of the range.

The Classic name covers less consistent work than it suggests, though. On some phones Leronza doesn’t touch the factory finish at all. On others the atelier refinishes the colour itself, and on the iPhone 17 Pro the back glass is replaced with leather or mother of pearl. This guide sets out what Classic actually means on each phone that carries it, what each colour costs, where it is and isn’t the cheapest option, and when sending in your own phone saves money. All prices below come live from the shop.

What “Classic” means, phone by phone

Every Classic product page lets you choose between the same three metals, 24K Gold, Rose Gold and Platinum, and on every one of them the metal doesn’t change the price. After that, the phones go their own ways. The table shows what is actually changed on each phone, based on the wording of its product pages.

Phone Classic colours What gets plated The back Wireless charging
iPhone Air Space Black, Sky Blue, Cloud White, Light Gold Titanium frame and the camera lens ring Apple’s original glass, camera plateau and logo Kept: MagSafe and Qi2
iPhone 18 Pro & Pro Max Silver, Black, Burgundy, Glacier Camera rings, side buttons and logo detail Apple’s unibody finish, left alone Kept
iPhone Duo Silver, Black, Deep Blue, Cosmic Orange Camera rings and logo Enclosure refinished in colour by the atelier (a surface finish, not a panel) Kept: MagSafe and Qi2
iPhone 17 Pro & Pro Max Silver, Black, Deep Blue, Cosmic Orange Camera rings, side buttons and logo detail Back glass replaced: leather, or mother of pearl on Silver Stated as kept, but a gold Apple logo may affect it
Galaxy S26 Ultra Black, White, Sky Blue, Cobalt Violet Armor Aluminum frame and every camera lens ring Samsung’s original glass and wordmark Kept, with Samsung Wallet tap-to-pay
Galaxy Z Fold8 Graphite, Cream, Lavender The two rear lens rings only Samsung’s own factory colour Expected to work; confirmed by the sales team before ordering
Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra Jetblack, Silver Shadow, Blue Shadow, Mint The three rear lens rings only GoldPrivé colourways applied by the atelier Expected to work; confirmed before ordering

On both Galaxy Z Fold8 models the frame and the hinge are never plated, so the phone folds exactly as Samsung designed it. On the iPhone Duo the hinge, both displays and the Touch ID side button are also left as Apple built them. The Classic pages for the iPhone Air, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone Duo and all three Samsung phones say the internals aren’t touched either: the display, chip, cameras and battery stay as the manufacturer installed them.

Three kinds of Classic

When you put the product pages side by side, Classic splits into three different kinds of work. Which one your phone gets matters more than the colour name, because it decides how close the result stays to stock and, on one phone, why the black version costs more.

1. Factory colour, metal outline

iPhone Air, iPhone 18 Pro, Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8. The back is the one Apple or Samsung made, and Leronza adds metal only to the edges. On the Air and the S26 Ultra the whole frame is plated, which gives a thin line of metal around the phone. On the 18 Pro it’s the camera rings, buttons and logo, and on the Fold8 just two lens rings. Of the three kinds, this one stays closest to stock.

2. Atelier colour, metal accents

iPhone Duo, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. The colour comes from Leronza rather than the factory. On the Duo the enclosure is refinished as a surface finish, and the product pages say there’s no metal panel to block a charger. On the Fold8 Ultra, Jetblack and Silver Shadow are GoldPrivé names, and the pages say these aren’t Samsung shades. Only lens rings are plated.

3. New back, metal details

iPhone 17 Pro. Here Classic replaces Apple’s back glass. Cosmic Orange and Deep Blue get bovine leather, Silver gets genuine mother of pearl, and the Black edition’s unibody is plated in black rhodium. You can choose between the Apple logo and the GoldPrivé emblem. The pages warn that a gold Apple logo may affect wireless charging.

Why this matters: if you want a gold phone that still looks and behaves almost exactly like the one in the Apple or Samsung store, the first group is the one to look at. If you want the colour itself to be part of the commission, look at the Duo, the Fold8 Ultra or the iPhone 17 Pro.

Classic prices, colour by colour

On five of the seven phones the colour doesn’t change the price. Storage and screen size do, and on the iPhone 18 Pro so does the choice between Pro and Pro Max. The iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone Duo are the exceptions, because on both the Black edition costs more than the other three colours.

Phone Colour New phone, from Top configuration
iPhone Air Space Black · Sky Blue · Cloud White · Light Gold $ 2,390 $ 2,990
iPhone 18 Pro & Pro Max Silver · Black · Burgundy · Glacier $ 2,990 (Pro) · $ 3,190 (Pro Max) $ 4,790
iPhone Duo Silver · Deep Blue · Cosmic Orange $ 2,890 $ 4,290
iPhone Duo Black $ 3,590 $ 4,990
iPhone 17 Pro & Pro Max Silver · Deep Blue · Cosmic Orange $ 2,890 $ 4,290
iPhone 17 Pro & Pro Max Black $ 3,590 $ 4,990
Galaxy S26 Ultra Black · White · Sky Blue · Cobalt Violet $ 3,010 $ 3,610
Galaxy Z Fold8 Graphite · Cream · Lavender $ 3,790 $ 4,490
Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra Jetblack · Silver Shadow · Blue Shadow · Mint $ 5,880 $ 6,310

“From” is the smallest storage with a new phone supplied by Leronza. “Top configuration” is the largest storage the page offers: 2TB on the iPhone 18 Pro Max, 17 Pro Max and Duo, and 1TB on the iPhone Air and the three Samsung phones. On the iPhone 18 Pro the top price is for the Pro Max at 2TB. Where a page also offers a “use my own” option, it isn’t counted here; that route is covered in its own section below.

Why the black edition costs more on two phones

On the iPhone 17 Pro the product page gives the reason. The Black Classic doesn’t keep Apple’s finish: its unibody is plated in black rhodium before the gold accents go on, which adds a full layer of work that the Silver, Deep Blue and Cosmic Orange editions don’t have. Each 17 Pro storage tier costs the same amount more in Black, from the 256GB Pro up to the 2TB Pro Max.

On the iPhone Duo the Black edition is also priced above the other colours, but its product page doesn’t say why. It describes the same process as the other Duo colours: the enclosure is refinished in colour, the camera rings and logo are plated, and wireless charging stays. If the reason matters to you, the Dubai team can explain it before you order. Leaving it unexplained here is better than guessing.

The black premium doesn’t apply anywhere else. A Space Black iPhone Air, a Black iPhone 18 Pro, a Black Galaxy S26 Ultra, a Graphite Z Fold8 and a Jetblack Z Fold8 Ultra all cost the same as the lighter colours on the same phone.

Is Classic always the cheapest way in?

Usually, but not on every phone. Comparing each phone’s whole catalogue against its Classic line gives this:

Phone Classic from Lowest design on that phone
iPhone Air $ 2,390 Classic. The Space Black page notes that no Leronza iPhone Air costs less
iPhone 18 Pro & Pro Max $ 2,990 Classic, no design in the range starts lower
Galaxy S26 Ultra $ 3,010 Classic, described on its pages as the entry route
Galaxy Z Fold8 $ 3,790 Classic, no design in the range starts lower
Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra $ 5,880 Classic, the entry price for the Fold8 Ultra
iPhone 17 Pro & Pro Max $ 2,890 Amethyst Royale (Rhodium matte colour edition) starts lower, at $ 2,799
iPhone Duo $ 2,890 Nocturne Edition (Rhodium matte colour edition) starts lower, at $ 2,799

So on the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone Duo, the cheapest gold phone isn’t a Classic. It’s one of the matte colour editions from the Rhodium collection, where the body is refinished in a satin colour and only small details are plated. If the lowest price is the main goal on either phone, compare both lines. The Rhodium collection guide lists every matte edition, and the Prime collection guide covers the fully plated designs on the next tier up.

Sending in your own phone: where Classic allows it

Five of the seven Classic lines have a “use my own” option on the product page. You send the phone you already own, Leronza does the Classic work on it, and you pay only for the customisation. Because Classic involves so little metal, this is where the send-in route makes the biggest difference relative to the total.

Phone Your own phone With a new phone, from
iPhone Air $ 1,190 $ 2,390
iPhone 18 Pro $ 1,690 $ 2,990
iPhone 18 Pro Max $ 1,790 $ 3,190
Galaxy S26 Ultra $ 1,650 $ 3,010
Galaxy Z Fold8 $ 1,890 $ 3,790
Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra $ 3,790 $ 5,880
iPhone 17 Pro / iPhone Duo Not offered on the Classic pages: new phones only

The send-in price is a single figure because your storage doesn’t change the work. A 1TB phone and a 256GB phone get the same plated rings. The two columns aren’t directly comparable, though. The “new phone” price includes the handset, so the real saving depends on what your own phone is worth to you and whether you’d buy a new one anyway. Customise your own or buy ready-made? goes through that calculation, and the send-in guide explains how the phone gets to Dubai and back.

Check the colour before you send in. On the iPhone Air, iPhone 18 Pro, Galaxy S26 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold8, Classic keeps the factory colour, so your phone’s colour is the colour you get back. The Classic colour names on those pages are Apple’s and Samsung’s own. On the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra the Classic colours are GoldPrivé finishes, so ask the team how a send-in phone is handled before you post it.

How to choose a Classic

1. Decide how close to stock you want it.

To keep the phone almost exactly as it left the factory, choose the iPhone Air, iPhone 18 Pro, Galaxy S26 Ultra or Z Fold8. If you want a new back material or a colour the manufacturer doesn’t sell, look at the iPhone 17 Pro, the Duo or the Fold8 Ultra.

2. Pick the metal by colour, not by price.

24K Gold, Rose Gold and Platinum cost the same everywhere in Classic. Product pages note that gold looks warmest against cool shades such as Sky Blue, Deep Blue or Lavender, while Platinum reads as a quieter, cooler glint on pale finishes.

3. Check charging and the route in.

If you rely on a wireless pad, the iPhones and the S26 Ultra keep it outright. On the iPhone 17 Pro, keep the standard logo, and on the Fold8 models ask for confirmation. Then decide between a new phone and sending in your own where the page allows it.

Whichever phone you choose, the standard Leronza terms apply. Plating is 5–7 microns. Each piece is made to order, which takes roughly one to two weeks, and because it’s made to order it can’t be returned. The customisation carries a two-year warranty; the warranty guide lists what voids it. Shipping is insured, tracked and complimentary, and needs a signature on delivery. If charging is your main concern across the whole iPhone 18 range, this MagSafe and Qi2 guide covers every family, not only Classic. The Wireless Power Consortium publishes the Qi standards themselves.

Frequently asked questions

Does a Classic gold phone keep wireless charging?

On most of them, yes. The iPhone Air, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone Duo and Galaxy S26 Ultra Classic pages all state that wireless charging is kept, because no metal covers the back. On the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra it is expected to work, and the sales team confirms it for your configuration before you order. On the iPhone 17 Pro the pages say wireless charging stays, but warn that choosing a gold Apple logo may affect it.

Does choosing 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum change the price?

No. On every Classic product page all three metals cost the same. Storage, the phone itself, screen size on the iPhone 18 Pro, and the colour on two phones are what change the price.

Why does the black Classic cost more on the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Duo?

On the iPhone 17 Pro, the Black Classic’s body is plated in black rhodium before the gold accents are added, which the other colours don’t need. It starts at $ 3,590 against $ 2,890 for the other colours. The iPhone Duo Black is also priced higher, starting at $ 3,590, but its page doesn’t give a reason, so ask the Dubai team before ordering. On every other Classic phone, black costs the same as the other colours.

Can I get the Classic design on a phone I already own?

Yes, on the iPhone Air, iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. Each of their Classic pages has a “use my own” option. For example, the customisation alone on an iPhone Air is $ 1,190. The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Duo Classic editions are sold with a new phone only.

Is Classic the cheapest gold phone at Leronza?

On the iPhone Air, iPhone 18 Pro, Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra, nothing starts below the Classic line. On the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Duo, a Rhodium matte colour edition starts lower. Across the whole Classic collection, the lowest starting price is currently $ 2,390, on the iPhone Air.
