The Gold Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra2 Grey Marine Band is the most restrained way to wear precious metal on Samsung’s adventure watch. Grey is the colour that lets the Ultra2 stay itself. The ribbed, perforated band sits in the same dark family as the titanium case sides, so strap and case read almost as one shape and the plated bezel becomes a single bright frame around the 1.5-inch display. Platinum on grey looks close to monochrome, Rose Gold adds a little warmth and 24K Gold gives the strongest contrast. It looks equally right on a trail or at a dinner table.
Metal Where It Counts Bezel, Buttons, Buckle: The Three Plated Details
Only three areas take the metal: the bezel, the buttons (the Quick Button among them) and, on the strap, the buckle with its loop. The grey band is Samsung’s own and keeps its original colour. So do the titanium case sides, the display, the processor, the sensors and the battery, and the sensor back underneath is never touched.
Because that back keeps its factory finish, Samsung’s wireless charger docks on it and charges as it always would. Health tracking, workouts, the siren and Wear OS updates carry on just as on an unmodified Ultra2. Fit is set at the buckle: thread the band through, pick the hole that suits your wrist and tuck the end under the plated loop. No links, no tools, and you can change it whenever you like.

The 10ATM, IP69K and EN13319 diving ratings belong to the unmodified Ultra2 and should not be relied on once it has been plated. Please keep it dry. The Marine Band is built for water sports, but this watch is not: no diving, swimming or showering, because Samsung’s water and dive ratings should not be relied on once it is plated.
