Which Gold iPhone 18 Pro Designs Keep MagSafe and Qi2? A Family-by-Family Guide

Matte aqua Gold iPhone 18 Pro with plated camera rings, a design that keeps MagSafe charging

The back of a phone decides whether it charges on a MagSafe or Qi2 pad. Leronza’s Gold iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max range is built on several back-panel families, and they do not behave the same way: some keep wireless charging exactly as Apple made it, others give it up. This guide lines the families up so you can see which is which before you choose a design, with the price range of each read live from the catalogue.

The rule: metal across the back blocks wireless charging

The product pages say the same thing in different words. Where precious metal is laid across the back, MagSafe and Qi2 cannot charge through it. Where plating is limited to accents such as the camera rings, side buttons and logo, the back stays as Apple built it and wireless charging is unchanged. Everything else follows from that one distinction.

All families side by side

Family What is on the back MagSafe and Qi2 Price range
Classic Apple colour back; lens rings, buttons and logo plated Kept; USB-C unchanged $ 2,990 to $ 4,790
Rhodium Satin matte anodised colour; camera rings, buttons and logo plated Kept $ 2,990 to $ 5,090
Prime Plated metal back panel Not supported; USB-C $ 3,590 to $ 5,990
Ecstasy Plated, stone-set back Not supported; USB-C $ 4,090 to $ 15,790
Carbon Fiber Woven carbon over a metal panel Not supported; USB-C $ 3,990 to $ 6,290
Evil Eye Plated panel with a metal amulet Not supported; USB-C $ 6,610 to $ 9,080
Exotic Leather Leather panel in a plated frame Varies by build; confirm before ordering $ 3,990 to $ 6,290
Mother of Pearl Genuine shell panel in a plated frame Varies by build; confirm before ordering $ 3,990 to $ 6,290

The wording in the last column comes from each family’s product pages. Where a page says “some configurations”, so does this table.

The two families that keep it

Classic

Keeps the Apple colour back (Glacier, Black, Burgundy and Silver at the time of writing) and plates only the lens rings, side buttons and logo. The product pages call it the family where the specification needs no correction at all.

Rhodium

The matte colour collection: Nocturne Edition, Vermillion Signature, Verdant Supreme, Amethyst Royale, Rose Impériale, Umber Prestige and the newest Aqua Supreme and Cacao Noir. The colour is anodised into the aluminium and the accents are plated, which is why the pages say the edition keeps MagSafe and Qi2.

What keeping wireless charging costs, and what giving it up buys

Compare the entry prices directly. The cheapest Classic starts at $ 2,990 and the cheapest Rhodium at $ 2,990, while the cheapest Prime starts at $ 3,590 and the cheapest Carbon Fiber at $ 3,990. What the higher-priced families put on the back is metalwork, leather, shell or carbon, and that is exactly what rules out the wireless pad.

How to decide. If you charge on a MagSafe stand, a car mount or a bedside pad every day, choose from Classic or Rhodium. If you plug in a cable anyway, you give up very little by choosing a plated-back design, and you gain the statement piece.

Where to go next

Questions

Which Gold iPhone 18 Pro designs keep MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging?

The Classic and Rhodium designs. Their product pages state that no precious metal crosses the back, so MagSafe and Qi2 charging are unchanged. Designs that put metal across the back, including Prime, Ecstasy, Carbon Fiber and Evil Eye, do not support wireless charging and charge over USB-C.

Do the Exotic Leather and Mother of Pearl designs support wireless charging?

It depends on the build. The product pages say wireless charging works on some configurations and not others, and that the sales team confirms your exact configuration before you order.

Does choosing 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum change charging?

The product pages tie charging to the design rather than the finish. Classic and Rhodium list all three finishes with MagSafe and Qi2 unchanged, while plated-back designs lose wireless charging whichever metal you pick.

How do I charge a plated-back design?

Over USB-C. The product pages for the plated-back designs state that USB-C charging is unchanged and that Apple displays, cameras and Face ID are unaffected.

Does a Classic or Rhodium design lose anything else?

The Rhodium product pages note that the IP68 rating Apple quotes describes a device that has not been opened for customisation, so treat water resistance as qualified. The Classic pages list the specification as needing no correction.
