Leronza Warranty Explained: The 13 Conditions That Void It and How a Claim Works

Anyone who spends serious money on a gold-plated device wants to know one thing before they pay: what happens if something goes wrong? Leronza publishes its answer on a dedicated warranty page, but it is a dense page, and the part that matters most to owners, the list of conditions that end your cover, runs to thirteen separate items. This guide walks through all of them in plain English, explains the different cover periods for the plating and for the device, and shows how a claim actually works from first phone call to repaired item.

Everything below comes from Leronza’s own published terms. It is not legal advice, and the certificate that arrives with your order is the document that governs your specific piece. If you want the order-to-delivery overview first, our order timeline, warranty and shipping guide covers the whole journey; this article goes deeper on the warranty itself.

Two warranties, not one

The first thing to understand is that Leronza’s cover has two layers. The company states that it offers a 2-year customisation warranty and one year for the device, both counted from the date you receive your order. The customisation warranty relates to the gold, rose gold or platinum finishing work. The device warranty relates to the underlying handset or gadget. They run for different lengths, and they do not protect against the same things.

Inside those two headline periods, the terms set shorter periods for individual components. This is where many buyers get surprised, because the “outer dressing” of a piece is covered for far less time than the headline figure suggests.

Component Warranty period
Customisation (plating and craftsmanship) Two years
Device overall One year
Electronic components (if any) Twelve months
Batteries (if any) Six months
Outer dressing and body covering Thirty days
Cables and chargers (if any) Fourteen days

Reading the table together: a battery that fades at month eight is outside its six-month period even though the device itself is still inside its first year. Likewise, the thirty-day period on the outer body covering is a short window to inspect your piece carefully when it arrives. Check the finish, the edges and every material in good light in the first days, and raise anything with Leronza straight away rather than waiting.

Keep the certificate. The warranty page is explicit that you must keep the warranty certificate or invoice for the entire period you use the item, and that warranty repairs are accepted only with a properly filled certificate. Photograph it the day it arrives and store the original with the box.

What the warranty is for

Defects in the customisation work and faults in the device or its components within the periods above, assessed by the authorised service centre after inspection.

What it is not for

Damage caused by how the piece is used or treated, which is exactly what the thirteen conditions below describe.

The 13 conditions that void your warranty

Leronza lists thirteen circumstances in which cover ends. Several overlap, and a few are common to any premium electronics warranty, but others are specific to a gold-plated product. Here they are in the order the terms give them, with a short note on what each means in everyday life.

# Condition What it means in practice
1 Liquid damage The device is not water-resistant because of the gold plating. Any sign of liquid damage voids the warranty, regardless of the original model’s water-resistance rating.
2 Physical damage Any physical damage found, including damage to the display or screen, voids cover.
3 Negligence and misuse Negligence, misuse or overcharging can end cover. Use the charger and cable you were given, or reputable equivalents, and do not leave a device charging in extreme heat.
4 Protection foil removal Removing the protection foil from the device immediately cancels the warranty. Leave it in place.
5 Mechanical damage External or internal mechanical damage such as crushed contacts, cracks, signs of impact, fractures, or damage from improper use or transport is not covered.
6 Unauthorised repairs If anyone other than an authorised technician has opened or repaired the piece, cover is void. Do not take it to a mall repair kiosk.
7 Damage from accidents Accident damage such as impacts, fire, moisture, dust or foreign objects voids cover.
8 Improper electrical connection Damage from an unstable supply, missing grounding or other deviation from standard grounding is excluded.
9 Virus damage Evidence of damage caused by malicious software voids cover. Install apps only from official stores.
10 Environmental damage Damage from moisture, dust, dirt, sweat, corrosive chemicals or gases, including petrol, paint, alkalis, acids, mercury, cleaning agents, solvents and adhesives, is excluded.
11 Electrical damage Evidence of electrical breakdowns, conductor burnouts and similar failures voids cover.
12 Software alterations Altering the device software, installing unlicensed software or updating firmware through unofficial methods voids cover.
13 Improper cleaning Using chemically active liquids to clean or polish the piece voids cover.

Grouping the thirteen: three themes that cover almost everything

Thirteen items are hard to remember, but they collapse into three simple themes.

1. Keep it dry and clean

Liquid damage, environmental damage and improper cleaning account for items 1, 10 and 13. Sweat, sunscreen, perfume, pool water and cleaning products all sit in this group. Our care and maintenance guide explains how to build a routine that keeps those exposures away from the finish.

2. Keep it intact and untouched

Physical, mechanical and accident damage, foil removal and unauthorised repairs (items 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7) are about the physical state of the piece. A soft case and careful handling cover most of this.

3. Keep it standard

Electrical connection, electrical damage, misuse, virus damage and software alterations (items 3, 8, 9, 11 and 12) are about how it is powered and what runs on it. Stay with official updates and sensible charging.

Two usage rules that protect the finish

Beyond the thirteen conditions, the warranty page sets out two usage guidelines that deserve their own mention because they shape daily habits.

Water. The item is not waterproof, and water ingestion is prohibited. Customised watches are a particular case: Leronza states that plating and engraving can compromise the seal, so a customised Apple Watch will not be waterproof afterwards. Treat every plated device as something that never gets wet.
Cases. The terms say the item should not be used without a soft cover or case, and that hard, snug-fitting cases in leather, suede, plastic or synthetic fibres can reduce the lifespan of the plating. If you are choosing protection, our gold iPhone case guide compares the materials Leronza offers, and the casings collection shows the designs.

How a warranty claim works, step by step

1

Contact customer service. The terms ask you to call the service numbers on the website. The service centre line is +971 600 56 00 34.
2

Prepare your certificate. Repairs are accepted only with a properly filled warranty certificate. Non-functioning items must be sent to the service centre with technical documentation.
3

Send the item for diagnosis. A courier handles both delivery to the service centre and the return. The courier is free only while the item is within its warranty period.
4

Inspection decides feasibility. The service centre determines whether a warranty repair or replacement is possible only after inspecting the item. Repairs are performed at the authorised service centre only.
5

Repair. Duration depends on the severity of the defect and may extend up to 45 calendar days from the date the item reaches the service centre, unless a written agreement says otherwise.
Unwarranted requests can cost money. If a request is deemed unwarranted, meaning it concerns a fault that needs no part repair or replacement, or is judged non-warranty by the service centre, you may be charged for diagnostic assessment and for sending the item to the service centre. Check the conditions above before you ship anything.

Liability limits worth knowing

Two further terms are easy to overlook. First, the seller is not accountable for compatibility with third-party programs, products, system configurations or driver installations, and does not guarantee compatibility with your own hardware and firmware set. Second, the service centre is not responsible for information stored on any medium, or for loss resulting from data loss. In plain terms: back up your device before it leaves your hands, every time.

After the warranty ends

Cover ending does not mean support ending. Leronza states that its service centre remains available after the warranty period for repairs, adjustments and technical assistance. You send the goods to the authorised service centre, and a consultant can provide the address on +971 600 56 00 34. Repairs outside warranty are naturally chargeable, so it is worth asking for a quote before committing.

Warranty and the no-returns rule

A warranty is not a return right. Leronza’s terms are firm that phones are technically advanced products and are non-returnable and non-exchangeable, and every customisation is made to order for one customer. Read the refund policy alongside the warranty so there are no surprises, and use the consultation stage of the Customise Your Device process to settle model, materials and finish before you pay the deposit. If you are sending in a device you own, our send-in process guide explains each stage, and customising a watch, iPad, Mac or AirPods covers the other device families.

A short checklist before you accept delivery

  • Inspect the finish, edges and every material in the first days, because the outer body covering carries only thirty days of cover.
  • Photograph the warranty certificate and invoice, and store the originals safely.
  • Leave the protection foil on.
  • Put the piece in a soft case before it goes in a bag or pocket.
  • Keep it away from water, sweat, perfume and cleaning products.
  • Use only official software updates and a proper charger.
  • Back up your data now, before you ever need a repair.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the Leronza warranty?

Leronza offers a 2-year customisation warranty and one year for the device, both from the date you receive your order. Individual components have shorter periods: twelve months for electronics, six months for batteries, thirty days for outer dressing and body covering, and fourteen days for cables and chargers.

Does removing the protection foil void the warranty?

Yes. The warranty page states that removing the protection foil from the device immediately cancels the warranty, so leave it in place.

Is a gold-plated phone water-resistant?

No. The terms say the device is not water-resistant because of the gold plating, and any sign of liquid damage voids the warranty. Customised watches are not waterproof either.

How long does a warranty repair take?

It depends on the severity of the defect and may extend up to 45 calendar days from the date the item reaches the service centre, unless a written agreement says otherwise.

Can I get support once the warranty has expired?

Yes. Leronza says its authorised service centre remains available after the warranty period for repairs, adjustments and technical assistance. Call +971 600 56 00 34 for the service centre address.
