Here the proportions are reversed. Instead of a shining body, the Gold and Black Desk Stapler is dressed almost entirely in matt black, and the metal is saved for the details: the domed knob, the spring beneath it, the screw heads, a knurled end cap and the round anvil plate. From across a room it reads as a dark, architectural shape; closer in, the polished points catch the light one at a time. It is the quiet voice among our gold desk accessories.
