18K Solid Gold iPhone 17 Pro: All Six Designs Compared by Gold Weight and Price

Most gold iPhones are plated: a genuine iPhone with a 5 to 7 micron layer of 24K gold, rose gold or platinum. The 18K Gold iPhone 17 Pro & Pro Max collection is built differently. Each of its six designs adds parts made from solid 18K (750) gold to a genuine iPhone 17 Pro or Pro Max, with the aluminium frame plated in 24K gold.

The six product pages list the approximate gold weight, the other materials and the prices. This guide puts them side by side so you can see what the money pays for, then works through the choices that actually separate one design from another.

What “18K solid gold iPhone” means here

Nothing in this collection is a solid gold phone body. The product pages describe the same construction on every design:

  • The phone is a genuine iPhone 17 Pro (6.3″) or iPhone 17 Pro Max (6.9″).
  • The frame is the aluminium frame, plated in 24K gold.
  • The solid gold is a set of 18K (750) elements on the back. On three designs it is the back plate itself. On the other three it is a strip or set of bars on a platinum-plated back.

18K, or 750, means 750 parts gold per 1,000 by weight. The rest is alloy metal that makes the gold harder (see fineness and karat explained). For the general difference between the two constructions, read solid gold vs gold-plated iPhones. The rest of this guide covers only these six designs.

The six designs, by gold weight

The table is sorted by the approximate gold weight on each product page. Prices are pulled live from the catalogue. “From” is the iPhone 17 Pro with 1TB, the cheapest configuration of every design. “Highest listed” is the most expensive configuration on the product page.

Design Approx. gold weight Where the 18K gold is Other materials From Highest listed
Luxoro 70–90 g Alternating vertical elements and a curved top panel Silver elements between the gold $ 15,920 $ 18,510
Royaltique 70–90 g A vertical strip of interlinked bars Platinum-plated brushed back $ 15,920 $ 18,510
Aurique 80–100 g Interlinked bars on the back Platinum-plated brushed back $ 17,910 $ 20,500
Monarque 100–120 g The back plate: a sculpted lattice Chocolate brown bovine leather inlay $ 21,890 $ 24,480
Zarqa 100–120 g The back plate: geometric latticework Four mother of pearl inlays, bovine leather listed as Tan $ 21,890 $ 23,880
Viridian 110–130 g The back plate: a machined chevron Deep green bovine leather inlay $ 23,880 $ 26,470

Two patterns stand out. First, price follows gold weight. The two lightest designs share the lowest starting price, Aurique is next, the two 100–120 g designs share a higher price, and Viridian, the heaviest, costs the most. You are mostly choosing how much gold you want, and the style comes with it.

Second, the size step is the same everywhere. On every design the Pro Max costs the same fixed amount more than the Pro. The Pro is listed in 1TB only, and the Pro Max comes in 1TB or 2TB, so check the 2TB price on the product page if you need the extra storage.

Luxoro 18K gold iPhone 17 Pro with alternating gold and silver vertical elements on the back

Luxoro · 70–90 g
Royaltique 18K gold iPhone 17 Pro with a strip of interlinked gold bars down the back

Royaltique · 70–90 g
Aurique 18K gold iPhone 17 Pro with gold bars across a white platinum-plated back

Aurique · 80–100 g
Monarque 18K gold iPhone 17 Pro with a gold lattice back over brown leather

Monarque · 100–120 g
Zarqa 18K gold iPhone 17 Pro with a gold lattice back, leather and mother of pearl inlays

Zarqa · 100–120 g
Viridian 18K gold iPhone 17 Pro with a gold chevron back over green leather

Viridian · 110–130 g

Worked example: how much pure gold is that?

Because 18K is 75% gold by weight, you can convert each listed weight into fine (pure) gold:

Listed 18K weight Designs Fine gold content (× 0.75)
70–90 g Luxoro, Royaltique about 52–68 g
80–100 g Aurique about 60–75 g
100–120 g Monarque, Zarqa about 75–90 g
110–130 g Viridian about 82–98 g

So moving from the lightest designs to Viridian adds roughly 40 g of 18K gold, about 30 g of fine gold. The listed weights are approximate ranges, and they appear under each page’s gold specification. If the exact gold content matters to you, for example for insurance or valuation, ask the team for the figure on your unit before you order.

Against the plated iPhone 17 Pro designs

The 24K plated iPhone 17 Pro & Pro Max designs are listed from $ 2,799 to $ 14,890. The 18K collection starts at $ 15,920. At today’s listed prices, the cheapest 18K design costs more than the most expensive plated one. The two are different products, not a cheaper and a dearer version of one thing. One is a precious-metal surface finish. The other has tens of grams of solid gold you could weigh.

There is also a trade-off on choice. Plated designs let you pick 24K gold, rose gold or platinum at the same price. The 18K designs have no finish option on their product pages: each comes in the metals and materials shown.

Which design fits which buyer

Lowest entry into solid gold

Luxoro or Royaltique. Same price and same listed weight, so it comes down to looks. Luxoro alternates gold with silver. Royaltique runs a single strip of interlinked bars down the back.

The back plate itself in gold

Monarque, Zarqa and Viridian are the three designs whose pages describe the back plate as handcrafted from 18K solid gold, with leather showing through the pattern.

A cooler, white-metal look

Aurique sets its gold bars on a platinum-plated brushed back, so it reads lighter than the leather designs.

Colour, or the most gold

Brown leather: Monarque. Leather with mother of pearl: Zarqa. Green leather, with the heaviest listed weight in the collection: Viridian.

Two product pages read alike. The written descriptions of Aurique and Royaltique are almost word for word the same. Use the listed weight (80–100 g against 70–90 g), the price and the photos to tell them apart. On Zarqa, the spec table lists the leather as Tan, while the main photo shows a warmer red-brown. If colour matters, ask for a photo of a finished unit.

Practical points before you order

Charging. Every design puts metal across the back, either solid 18K gold or a plated plate. Leronza’s own collection pages note that a metal back plate blocks MagSafe and that full-metal editions charge over USB-C. Plan on cable charging, and ask the team to confirm for the design you choose. Our MagSafe guide for the 18 Pro explains why some materials keep wireless charging and others don’t.
  • Which iPhone. This collection is built on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. The current catalogue has no 18K solid gold line for the iPhone 18 Pro. If you want the newest phone, the choice is the 24K gold iPhone 18 Pro & Pro Max range, which is plated.
  • In the box. Each product page lists a black leather presentation box, an Apple 20W USB-C power adapter, a 2m USB-C charge cable, a Leronza certificate of authenticity, a polishing cloth, and an instruction manual with a care guide.
  • Warranty and returns. Pieces are made to order, so returns aren’t accepted. The customisation itself carries a 2-year warranty. Read what the warranty covers and what voids it before you buy.
  • Checking authenticity. Any seller can call a phone “solid gold”. Ask which parts are solid and what they weigh. The fake gold iPhone guide lists the other checks.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 18K gold iPhone 17 Pro made entirely of solid gold?

No. Each design is a genuine iPhone 17 Pro or Pro Max with key elements in solid 18K (750) gold and an aluminium frame plated in 24K gold. On Monarque, Zarqa and Viridian the solid gold is the back plate. On Luxoro, Royaltique and Aurique it is a set of gold elements on the back.

How much gold is in each design?

The product pages list approximate weights of 70–90 g for Luxoro and Royaltique, 80–100 g for Aurique, 100–120 g for Monarque and Zarqa, and 110–130 g for Viridian. At 75% purity, that is about 52 g to 98 g of fine gold across the range.

Does the 18K gold iPhone support MagSafe or wireless charging?

Plan on USB-C charging. Every design has a metal back, either solid gold or a plated plate, and Leronza’s collection pages note that a metal back plate blocks MagSafe. The team can confirm for a specific design before you order.

Can I choose rose gold or platinum on an 18K design?

No. The plated designs offer 24K gold, rose gold or platinum at one price. The 18K designs have no finish option on their product pages and come in the metals and materials shown for each design.

Is there an 18K solid gold iPhone 18 Pro?

Not in the current catalogue. The 18K solid gold collection is built on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. For the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, Leronza offers 24K gold, rose gold and platinum plated designs.
