Carbon fibre composite is stiff and light, which suits a back plate perfectly. We fit it there and nowhere else, keeping the frame, hinge and displays of the Apple iPhone Duo exactly as Apple built them.

Photos, Apple Pay and USB‑C charging work normally. MagSafe and wireless charging do not, because the carbon is bonded to a metal plate.
