The Gold Shure Super 55 takes Shure’s Art Deco vocal microphone, with its rounded, barred head and sculpted swivel mount, and trades the familiar chrome for mirror-plated 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum. Within our gold microphones it plays the vintage showpiece, as much at home in a crooner’s hand at a gala evening as on a shelf in a music room.
The look is retro; the sound is not. Inside sits a shock-mounted dynamic cartridge with a supercardioid pickup, which focuses tightly on the voice in front and helps keep stage monitors and room noise at bay. Shure quotes a response of 60 to 17,000 Hz. The three metals are priced identically.

Shure sells the Super 55 Deluxe in chrome. We plate its die-cast body, Art Deco grille and swivel stand mount at 5–7 microns in 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum, then polish every curve to a mirror so each bar reflects the room around it. The “55” nameplate keeps Shure’s own finish, and Shure’s signature blue foam windscreen stays behind the grille, showing between the bars just as it does on the chrome original.
