For precious metal on the wrist that does not shout about it, the Gold Apple Watch Ultra 4 Black Ocean Band is the one to wear. Underneath is a brand-new Apple Watch Ultra 4, whose Grade 5 titanium housing is hand-finished in our Dubai workshop in 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum, 5–7 microns thick. Black suits a sports watch better than any other shade, and Apple’s Ocean Band keeps the Ultra’s tool-watch character intact with its deep ribs and tubular profile. What changes is the bezel around the screen, which now glows against the dark strap. It goes from a morning run to the office to a late dinner without looking out of place, and suits the person who owns one watch and wears it for everything. Rose Gold on black is the softest version; 24K Gold is the boldest.
Metal Outside, Apple Within What We Plate and What Apple Keeps
We coat the housing in your chosen metal, and with it the crown and both buttons, side and Action. On the strap, just two small pieces are plated, the buckle and the keeper loop; the black band itself stays in Apple’s own fluoroelastomer, unplated. Inside and underneath nothing is altered: the flat sapphire crystal, display, S11 chip, sensors, battery and sensor back all remain Apple’s work.
With that sensor back left bare, the magnetic fast charger clicks into place as usual, and workouts, sleep score, health readings and watchOS updates run just as on a stock Ultra 4. To put it on, pass the ribbed band through the plated buckle, set the pin in a hole and slide the tail under the loop; a slight stretch in the band keeps it snug. Changing the fit takes seconds, with no tools and no trip back to us.

Which parts get plated?
The case, Digital Crown, Action button and side button, 5–7 microns deep, together with the band’s buckle and loop. The black strap, the crystal, the display and the sensor back are left as Apple made them.
Is it a real Ultra 4 or a lookalike?
It is a genuine, brand-new Apple Watch Ultra 4. Only its exterior is customised, by hand in Dubai; the S11 chip, sensors, battery and watchOS are Apple’s, and it works with iPhone 11 or later on iOS 27.
Does it charge normally?
It does. We leave the sensor back bare, so Apple’s magnetic fast charger snaps on as usual and, on Apple’s numbers, refills to 80% in about 45 minutes.
Is engraving extra?

What case size will I get?

Can I wear it in the pool or sea, and what about the warranty?
Keep it dry. Apple built the Ocean Band for water sports, but after customisation the watch is not water resistant and should not go diving or swimming, or into the shower. Apple may also treat it as modified, which can affect the manufacturer warranty, while Leronza Care covers the customised parts.
How does it compare with other Ultra 4 bands?
It is the most understated of the range. The Navy Ocean Band adds a hint of colour and the White Ice Blue Ocean Band suits summer.
