Leronza Evil Eye Collection: Nazar, Hamsa and Meander Gold Phone Designs

Hamsa Eye Amulet Gold iPhone Duo with an 18K solid gold hamsa on the back plate

Few symbols have travelled as far as the evil eye. A blue disc with a staring centre hangs over doorways, cots and car mirrors from Istanbul to Athens to Marrakech, and in jewellery it has become one of the most recognisable talismans in the world. Leronza has taken that tradition and mounted it on the back of a phone. The result is the Evil Eye collection: four designs, each built around a heavy 18K solid gold amulet, available across four different phone lines.

This guide explains what each of the four designs actually is, what it is made of, which phones carry it, how it changes (and does not change) the way the phone works, and how to choose between them. Every detail below comes from the live product pages, so nothing here is guesswork.

What the evil eye means, and why it works as jewellery

The evil eye is a belief, found across the Mediterranean, the Middle East and South Asia, that an envious glance can bring bad luck, and that a watching eye can send the harm back. The blue glass charm known as the nazar is the best-known remedy; the open hand known as the hamsa is another. You can read the background in the Wikipedia entry on the evil eye and the entry on the hamsa. A third motif in this collection, the Greek key, is covered under meander.

Those traditions already treat these symbols as things you carry and wear, which is why they translate so naturally into gold. A phone is the object you hold dozens of times a day and put down in front of other people, so a protective symbol on its back is more than decoration: it sits exactly where you would want a charm to sit.

The four designs, one by one

LuxEvil Charm

The showpiece. A round nazar cast from roughly 30 to 35 grams of 18K solid gold, mounted on the back like a medal. Concentric rings of blue, white and golden simulated diamonds build the classic eye and close on a deep blue centre. It is the heaviest amulet Leronza makes.

Hamsa Eye Amulet

A raised protective hand cast in 18K solid gold, about 20 to 25 grams, lined with simulated diamonds along every finger. At the palm, rings of turquoise and blue stones form the eye. This is the one with the most colour.

Seraphic Hamsa Blessing

The same hand, but in light. The 18K gold hamsa, again about 20 to 25 grams, is outlined and filled entirely with white simulated diamonds, with a single larger stone set within the eye at its centre. With no coloured stones, it reads as pure brilliance against the plate.

Meandros Blessing Eye

The graphic, stone-free option. An outer ring of black Greek key circles a band of textured gold and a blue evil eye at the centre. The medallion is 18K solid gold of about 20 grams, and it joins two ancient traditions in one object.

In short: choose LuxEvil Charm for the boldest statement, Hamsa Eye Amulet for colour, Seraphic Hamsa Blessing for a white-diamond look, and Meandros Blessing Eye if you prefer clean metalwork to stones. Whichever you pick, the amulet is mounted on a plate finished in 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum.

Which phones carry the collection

The Evil Eye collection is offered on four lines: the Gold iPhone Duo, the Gold iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, the Gold Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and the Gold Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. Each line has its own Evil Eye category, listed below with the live price range of the four designs.

Phone line Evil Eye category Price range across the four designs
Gold iPhone Duo Evil Eye, Gold iPhone Duo $ 9,690 to $ 12,760
Gold iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max Evil Eye, Gold iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max $ 6,610 to $ 9,080
Gold Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Evil Eye, Gold Samsung S26 Ultra $ 6,710 to $ 8,780
Gold Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra Evil Eye, Gold Samsung Z Fold8 Ultra $ 9,600 to $ 11,490

Within each line the pattern is consistent: the LuxEvil Charm is the most expensive of the four designs, which is unsurprising given it carries the heaviest gold. The other three designs sit together at one lower price. The price you see on a product page then moves with the capacity you choose, which is why each figure above is a range. Finish does not change the price: 24K Gold, Rose Gold and Platinum cost the same.

How the amulet is mounted, and what still works

The most common worry about a heavy gold ornament on a phone is whether it damages the phone. According to the product pages, it does not touch the internals. On the iPhone 18 Pro line the charm is mounted only on the replacement back panel, with the frame plated in the same metal, and nothing inside the phone is opened or modified. On the Duo, the amulet sits on the back plate below the cameras and away from the fold, and the frame, hinge and displays are left exactly as Apple made them, so the phone opens and closes normally.

Keeps working

The cameras, Face ID or Touch ID as on the base phone, Apple Pay on the iPhone models, and USB-C charging. The phone beneath is a genuine Apple or Samsung device, so its published specifications apply unchanged.

Does not work

MagSafe, Qi2 and wireless charging, because the amulet rests on a metal plate. If you rely on a wireless charging pad every night, plan to charge by cable.

A heavy 18K gold amulet is a piece of jewellery first. Treat the back of the phone the way you would a ring: avoid setting it face-down on rough surfaces, and keep it away from liquid, since gold-plated devices are not water-resistant. Our warranty explainer lists the full terms.

Choosing between the four

  • You want people to notice it from across the room: LuxEvil Charm. It is the largest and heaviest, and the one the collection is built around.
  • You love colour: Hamsa Eye Amulet, with its turquoise and blue palette at the centre.
  • You prefer a white, jewellery-box look: Seraphic Hamsa Blessing, entirely in white simulated diamonds.
  • You prefer metal to stones: Meandros Blessing Eye, the graphic Greek key design with no stone-setting around the rim.

Finish is a separate decision. 24K Gold is the classic pairing with blue stones, Rose Gold is warmer, and Platinum gives the coolest, most contemporary look. If you are weighing finishes in general, our guide to customising versus buying ready-made explains how finishing choices relate to price.

Ordering, payment and delivery

You can pay a 50% deposit or pay in full. Orders ship with complimentary insured, tracked delivery, and a signature is required on arrival. Checkout settles in USD, or in AED if you are browsing in AED, which is explained in why your order is charged in USD or AED. Because pieces are made to order, returns are not available, so confirm the design, finish and capacity before you pay. You can see how the plating and mounting are covered in the warranty guide.

If you prefer to see a piece in person or talk through the options, the showroom is at Showroom 3, Aswar Building near Business Bay Metro, open Monday to Saturday, 09:00 to 19:00. Our other newest line, Supernova, is a good comparison if you are deciding between a talisman design and a fully paved one.

Frequently asked questions

What is in the Leronza Evil Eye collection?

It has four designs: LuxEvil Charm, Hamsa Eye Amulet, Seraphic Hamsa Blessing and Meandros Blessing Eye. Each is built around an 18K solid gold amulet mounted on a back plate finished in 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum.

Which phones can I get the Evil Eye designs on?

The four designs are offered on the Gold iPhone Duo, the Gold iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, the Gold Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and the Gold Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.

How heavy is the gold amulet?

The LuxEvil Charm nazar is cast from roughly 30 to 35 grams of 18K solid gold. The Hamsa Eye Amulet and Seraphic Hamsa Blessing hands weigh about 20 to 25 grams, and the Meandros Blessing Eye medallion is about 20 grams.

Does the amulet change how the phone works?

The amulet is mounted on the back plate and the phone internals are not modified, so the cameras, Apple Pay on iPhones and USB-C charging keep working. MagSafe, Qi2 and wireless charging are not supported because the plate is metal.

Does the finish change the price?

No. 24K Gold, Rose Gold and Platinum are priced the same. The price changes with the design and the storage capacity you choose.
