Exotic Royale uses genuine ostrich hide — the quill-follicle leather with its distinctive raised dot pattern — inlaid into both folding panels and framed in 24K Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum. Ostrich behaves differently from crocodile on a folding device: the follicle pattern is denser and less directional, so it tolerates the hinge line far better and does not need the strict grain matching that a scaled hide demands. The result is a texture that reads evenly whether the phone is open or shut.
Selecting the Crown
Only the central crown of an ostrich hide carries the full follicle pattern, and it is a small area — which is why this edition consumes more raw material than any other leather we offer. We select for density and even follicle spacing, then set the panels into milled gold channels so the leather sits flush at the frame and sealed at the spine. Black, cognac and navy are the standing colours.
