The Pair
The Only Jewellery
Most Men Will Wear.
A watch is an instrument and a ring is a statement about someone else. Cufflinks are the one ornament a man puts on purely because he chose to — which is why they are the most personal thing on a formal shirt, and why engraving them is the point rather than an extra.
A wedding party, or a whole board?
Matched pairs with the same logo, or a different set of initials on each — quoted in volume with one schedule.
Square or Round
The Only Decision You Have to Make.
Last updated: August 30, 2026 · both shapes are the same price — live pricing on each product page
| Shape | Character | Choose it if |
|---|---|---|
| Square | Architectural, with defined edges that catch light in flat planes | You wear sharp tailoring, or you want the engraving to sit on a clean, generous face |
| Round | Softer and more traditional, with a flat face — see the round pair | You want the quieter option, or the engraving is the point — a flat face reads more evenly |
There is no functional difference and no price difference — both are 24K gold on the same swivel-bar fitting, and both take the same engraving. Square gives a larger, gently domed face; round is flat, which holds an engraving more evenly.
The Fitting Matters
More Than the Face.
Anyone can polish a square of metal. The part that decides whether cufflinks get worn twice is the fitting: these use a swivel bar that pivots flat, slides through both cuff holes and turns to lock — the mechanism you can fasten one-handed, on your own, without help and without a mirror.
It is plated as one piece with the face, so the bar, the post and the hinge all carry the same gold. Cheap cufflinks give away their construction exactly there — a gold face on a bare metal bar.

02 — Engraving
Initials on One,
the Mark on the Other.
A name or set of initials is engraved across the face; the second link carries the 24K Gold · Leronza London mark. Together they read as a matched pair rather than two identical objects — which is the detail people notice when a cuff turns.
For weddings, a different set of initials can go on each man’s pair. For companies, the logo takes the place of the name. Square offers slightly more flat area if the text is long.

How to Wear Them
What Shirt You Need.
Cufflinks fail for one reason more than any other: the wrong shirt. This is the whole of what you need to know.
| Point | What to know |
|---|---|
| The shirt | A double cuff — also called a French cuff — which folds back and has holes on both sides rather than buttons |
| Also works | Single-barrel cuffs made with holes instead of a button, sometimes sold as convertible cuffs |
| How to fasten | Fold the cuff back, align all four holes, pivot the bar flat, push through and turn it to lock |
| Which way round | Engraved face outward, on the outside of the wrist — that is the side people see |
| With a watch | Fine together; the cuff sits over the watch rather than under it |
If the recipient does not own a double-cuff shirt, the tie clip is the safer gift — it works with every shirt they already own.

24K Gold Cufflinks by GoldPrivé — Square or Round, Engraved to Order.
Cufflinks are the smallest thing Leronza plates and the most personal — a pair of 24K gold faces engraved for one man, made under the GoldPrivé name in square or round at the same price.
What Are the 24K Gold Cufflinks?
A matched pair with gently domed faces in genuine 24K gold on a swivel-bar fitting. One face is engraved with a name, initials or a logo; the other carries the 24K Gold · Leronza London mark. Both shapes cost $281, so the choice is entirely aesthetic.
Square or Round?
Square reads architectural, with defined edges and a slightly larger flat area — better if the engraving is a long name or a logo. Round is softer and more traditional, catching light in a continuous curve. Neither is more formal than the other, and no rule governs the choice.
The Fitting Is the Test
A swivel bar pivots flat, passes through both cuff holes and turns to lock, which is what makes a pair fastenable one-handed. Here the bar, post and hinge are plated as one with the face — the join where inexpensive cufflinks reveal themselves as a gold face on a bare bar.
You Need the Right Shirt
Cufflinks require a double cuff, also called a French cuff, or a convertible cuff made with holes rather than a button. It is worth checking before buying them as a gift — if the recipient does not own one, the gold tie clip works with every shirt they already have.
Weddings and Corporate Orders
The common commission is one design with different initials on each pair — groomsmen, partners, a board — produced as a single order with matched finish. Volume pricing runs through 24K gold corporate gifts.
Real 24K Gold, Certified
Genuine 24K gold — 24ct gold in UK spelling — polished, tarnish-resistant and certified on delivery, with rose gold and platinum available. The same standard as the executive desk collection and everything in the 24K gold luxury gifts range.

Frequently Asked Questions
Considering Gold Cufflinks?
What kind of shirt do I need?
A double cuff — also called a French cuff — which folds back and has holes on both sides instead of a button. Convertible cuffs, made with holes rather than a button, also work. An ordinary button cuff will not.
Square or round — which should I choose?
Neither is more formal and both cost the same. Square is architectural with a larger, gently domed face; round is flat, which suits a monogram best. It is purely a matter of taste.
How do they fasten?
A swivel bar pivots flat, passes through all four holes of the folded cuff, then turns to lock. It is the fitting you can manage one-handed without help.
Is the fitting gold too, or just the face?
The whole link is plated — face, post, hinge and bar. Inexpensive cufflinks typically plate the face alone, which shows the moment a cuff turns.
Where does the engraving go?
Across the face. One link carries your name, initials, date or logo; the other carries the 24K Gold · Leronza London mark, so the pair reads as matched rather than duplicated.
Do I receive a pair?
Yes — the price is for a matched pair, boxed together.
Can you do different initials for a wedding party?
Yes, and it is the most common commission — one design, a different set of initials on each pair, produced as a single order so the finish matches across all of them.
Will the gold wear?
Cufflinks are handled at the start and end of an evening and spend the rest of the time still, so they see far less wear than a carried object. Keep them boxed rather than loose in a drawer with watches and coins.
Can I have rose gold or platinum?
Yes, both are available to order in either shape, with the same engraving options.
How should they be cleaned?
A soft dry cloth. Never a jewellery dip or polish — those are made for solid metal and will attack a plated finish.
