The Commission

A Scooter That Became
a Jewellery Commission.

Nobody had gold-plated and crystal-set a Segway before. Doing it meant treating a mass-produced e-scooter the way a jeweller treats a bracelet — strip it, plate it, then set ten thousand stones into a frame that has to survive being ridden.

Want one built for you?

The gold Segway is made to order — crystal colour, plating finish and monogram are specified before the build begins.

01 — The Piece

24K Gold Segway With Simulated Diamonds.

One machine, made once, and available to commission again to order. The deck, frame, fork, wheel hubs and mudguard are finished in genuine 24K gold; the stem column, fork and deck edges are encrusted in simulated diamonds.

New Luxury 24K Gold Segway

Seven Months.
10,224 Stones.

Every crystal was placed individually. There is no shortcut, no wrap and no printed film — each stone sits in adhesive on a gold surface that was prepared, plated and polished before setting began. Set at that density, a single misaligned row is visible from across a room, which is why the work took seven months rather than seven weeks.

The Build

Where the Ten Thousand
Stones Went.

The crystals are not scattered across the machine. They follow the three surfaces a rider and an onlooker actually see — the vertical bar, the front fork, and the edges of the deck.

Crystal-encrusted handlebar stem of the 24K gold Segway

01 — The Bar

The full height of the steering column is sleeved in stones, so the part held while riding is also the part that catches the light first.

Crystal-set front fork of the luxury gold Segway

02 — The Fork

Both fork legs are set around their curve — the hardest surface on the machine to follow, because the stones must stay in line while the metal bends.

Crystal edging along the side deck of the 24K gold Segway

03 — The Side Deck

A continuous band of crystals runs the length of both deck edges, framing the gold platform and outlining the whole machine in profile.

The 24K Gold Segway by GoldPrivé — The Most Expensive Scooter Ever Made.

At $410,000 the gold Segway costs more than most supercars and travels at a walking pace. That contradiction is the entire point: Leronza took the least glamorous vehicle on the road and spent seven months turning it into a jewellery piece under the GoldPrivé name.

What Is the 24K Gold Segway?

A genuine Ninebot KickScooter Powered by Segway, disassembled, plated in real 24K gold and hand-set with 10,224 simulated diamonds across the handlebar column, front fork and deck edges. It is the world’s first gold and crystal-encrusted Segway, and it remains fully functional — it folds, it rides, it charges.

Simulated Diamonds, Stated Plainly

The stones are high-quality simulated diamonds — crystals, not mined diamonds. At 10,224 stones, mined diamonds would put the price into the millions and make the machine too precious to ride. Simulated stones give the same fire under light on a scooter that is meant to be used, and Leronza says so openly rather than leaving buyers to guess.

Why a Scooter?

Because everything else had already been done. Gold phones, gold watches and gold laptops are an established category; a gold e-scooter was not. The commission exists to prove a point about what gold plating can be applied to — and the 24K gold racing bike that followed makes the same argument on two wheels.

It Still Works Like a Segway

The 300W motor, three power modes, cruise control, regenerative front braking and rear step brake are all as the factory built them. It climbs gradients to 15 degrees, carries up to 100 kg, rolls on 9-inch wheels and folds with one push — the gold and the crystals sit on the surfaces, never in the drivetrain.

Who Buys a Gold Segway?

Collectors, hotel and showroom owners, and private museums — buyers who want a centrepiece that people photograph rather than a vehicle they commute on. It is the same audience that commissions the pieces in the 24K gold luxury gifts collection, at the top end of the personalised-luxury market followed by Forbes and Robb Report.

Commissioning One

Each build is made to order in Dubai with the crystal colourway, plating metal and monogram agreed in advance, then crated and shipped fully insured with a Certificate of Authenticity, serial verification and aftercare through Leronza Care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Considering the 24K Gold Segway?

Are the diamonds real?

No — they are simulated diamonds, described that way deliberately. There are 10,224 of them; in mined diamonds the same setting would run to millions and produce a machine nobody would dare ride.

How many crystals are on it, and where?

10,224 stones, set by hand across three surfaces: the full handlebar column, both front fork legs, and a continuous band along each side of the deck.

Can it actually be ridden?

Yes. It is a working Ninebot KickScooter Powered by Segway — 300W motor, three power modes, cruise control, regenerative front braking and a rear step brake. The gold and stones are applied to surfaces, not to the drivetrain.

How long does one take to build?

Seven months for the original. A new commission is quoted individually, because the timeline depends on the crystal colourway and any monogram or livery work.

Does the gold plating affect the weight or handling?

Plating is measured in microns and adds no meaningful weight. The stones add a little, but the folding mechanism, 100 kg load rating and 15-degree gradient limit are unchanged from the factory specification.

Is it road legal where I live?

The machine is a standard Segway-powered e-scooter underneath, so the rules that apply to e-scooters in your country apply to it. Those vary widely — check locally before riding it on public roads or paths. Most owners keep theirs on private property.

Why does a scooter cost $410,000?

Because it is seven months of one artisan’s time, 10,224 individually placed stones and full 24K gold plating on a machine that had never been treated this way before. The scooter is a fraction of the cost; the labour is nearly all of it.

Can I have it in a different colour or metal?

Yes — rose gold and platinum plating are available, along with custom crystal colourways, a monogram on the deck and corporate liveries.

How is something like this delivered?

In a purpose-built crate rather than a carton, fully insured, door to door from Dubai to anywhere in the world.

Is there a matching piece?

Yes — the 24K gold men’s racing bike was built in the same spirit and is often commissioned alongside it, as a pair.
